Thank you

Thank you to the many presenters, attendees, and members of the International Program Committee who made ICRI 2024 such a success.

Around 420 people from 50 nations travelled to Brisbane for a rewarding, productive and thought-provoking conference.

To ensure the greatest possible level of global involvement and benefit, ICRI 2024 was also streamed online. More than 500 further people joined us online from 39 nations, many of them from countries not otherwise represented at the conference.

It was the first time ICRI had been hosted in the Asia Pacific. Doing so introduced fresh voices and viewpoints previously absent from conversations within the global research infrastructure community, and increased engagement with the region. 11 Southeast Asian and Pacific nations attended this year’s event.

ICRI 2024 was the first to focus on Indigenous knowledge and engagement. Thankyou to the First Nations representatives from around the world who presented ideas and concepts about science and research infrastructure, sometimes thousands of years in the making, to us all.

ICRI 2024 was a joint effort between Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, the European Commission, and the Australian Department of Education.
