Future Digital Infrastructure Requirements for Research Infrastructures
A roundtable workshop hosted by AWS
Thursday 5 December, 2:00 – 5:00pm, AWS Office, Level 30, 300 George St, Brisbane
Delivery format: In person
Event Description
The need for digital infrastructure to support research is only going to increase. And we will only meet this need by thinking outside the box and working with industry to deliver the required compute and storage. Join a half day roundtable discussion and workshop to hear from national research infrastructure leaders on how they are using commercial cloud to deliver their services to the research community and discuss the barriers and future opportunities to partnering with organisations like AWS.
The workshop will have 3 parts:
1. A panel discussion from research infrastructure leaders on their current and future uses for commercial cloud.
2. Barriers breakout session: Participants will break into groups and discuss existing barriers that prevent partnerships with commercial cloud providers.
3. Future Trends in technology that will impact all disciplines: Participants will imagine the future and predict future digital infrastructure requirements to support research. Can we predict the next technology trend like Generative AI and be ready for it?
