Event Description
The 16th Meeting of the GSO will be held in Brisbane, Australia to coordinate with ICRI 2024. The agenda will be available to invited delegates prior to the meeting. This meeting is a hybrid event, so if you are unable to attend in person, you will receive details for remote access.

Thursday 5 – Friday 6 December: GSO Meeting
The GSO 16th meeting to be held at The University of Queensland Brisbane City (UQBC), located right in the heart of Brisbane, at 308 Queen Street (the corner of Creek Street and Queen Street).

The UQBC is a 12-minute walk from ICRI 2024, located at the W Brisbane.

The UQBC is 7-minute taxi ride from the W Brisbane.
Monday 9 December: NCRIS projects site visit
The GSO delegation have the opportunity to visit six National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) projects located at The University of Queensland (UQ) St Lucia campus.
Delegates will visit six NCRIS projects:
- Phenomics Australia
- Microscopy Australia
- Bioplatforms Australia
- Therapeutic Innovation Australia
- Australian National Fabrication Facility
- National Imaging Facility.
These six NCRIS projects support different types of RI at the same institution, and the visit will explore how they use the networked nature of NCRIS to foster close collaborative relationships across RIs and across research institutions. These projects cover bioengineering, nanofabrication and nanotechnology, disease modelling and therapeutic development, and advanced imaging and microscopy.
Site Visit Itinerary
9:30am – 4pm
Delegates travel by local taxi to Level 2, Building 75 at UQ St Lucia.
Professor Alan Rowan, Director of the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology will welcome delegates and provide an introduction.
Delegates travel by local taxi from UQ St Lucia to their hotels or alternate destination.

Building 75, UQ St Lucia is a 14-minute local taxi journey from the UQBC.

Thursday – Afternoon tea (provided).
Friday – Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea (provided).
Catering will be provided at the UQBC and served in the meeting room.
Monday – Morning coffee and lunch (will be provided).
